The Southeast Permanente Medical Group

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group is an integral part of Kaiser Permanente. Our physicians can coordinate virtually every aspect of patient care - from referrals to laboratory tests to medications. With everything under one umbrella, our patients receive the highest continuity of care.

The largest not-for-profit health maintenance organization in the nation, Kaiser Permanente serves 8.6 million members in nine states and the District of Columbia. Our 15,000 physicians, 164,000 employees, 35 hospitals and 454 medical offices represent an integrated care delivery system that’s become a model for the future of health care.

Innovative from the start

From our earliest days caring for construction workers in Desert Center, California, Kaiser Permanente and its founders sought new, better ways to care for its patients. This spirit of innovation is what enabled a small insurance consortium in 1933 to become the most celebrated managed care organization in the country. Today, our progressive philosophy is expressed through ongoing expansion, ground-breaking medical services and state-of-the-art technology, like KP HealthConnect®, a highly sophisticated electronic health record system that integrates a member's inpatient, outpatient and clinic records with appointments, registration and billing. Kaiser Permanente also helps pioneer medical advancements through residency and fellowship programs, clinical research efforts and community service initiatives that help bring high quality health care to those in underserved areas.

A unique partnership

Kaiser Permanente is home to three different entities: Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc.; Kaiser Foundation Hospitals; and the Permanente Medical Groups. The Permanente Medical Groups and its physicians are dedicated to meeting the health care needs of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan members. While separate, all three organizations are united by one shared mission: organizing and delivering high-quality, evidence-based health care at affordable prices. This dedication to excellence is what sets us apart from our competitors. It’s also why we are consistently named among the top U.S. health plans in the annual ranking by U.S. News and World Report magazine in collaboration with the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).
