The Southeast Permanente Medical Group is pleased to announce that David Meyer, MD has been named Chief of Gastroenterology. He fills the role previously held by Rodney Harris, MD, who has decided to step down to concentrate on his clinical role. Dr. Harris has done an excellent job of guiding the department over the past few years, helping eliminate the back log for colonoscopies and assisting with getting the new procedure suites fully functional and efficient.

Dr. Meyer received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis and completed his residency and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Illinois Hospital. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a well respected clinician and has assisted Dr. Harris with administrative duties over the past few years. Dr. Meyer is an organized thinker and has plans to move our GI department forward and continue delivering the excellent care the department is known for. We are confident he will do a great job.
